Diamond Valley Baptist Church

Dear friends,

We are presently consolidating all our stock back from the Food Gallery in Eltham to shipping containers on site at Diamond Valley Baptist Church (309 Diamond Creek Rd, Plenty) commencing Wednesday 1st July.

At present, we have available – food, clothing, garden tools, bikes, prams, cots and other goods (all new or near new).

Ensure to bring your blue ID form when picking up orders for the first time from this venue.

Please come along to our official opening of DV Support Lounge at the above address where you can collect material aid from this site whilst relaxing over coffee and a chat in our newly fitted out support lounge facility (refer attached flyer).

Pass this information onto other bushfire affected people you may know.

Our aim is that together we can help rebuild community.

Look forward to catching up with you.

Faithfully

John Graham

Supporting the journey home……….

A community initiative, the Bushifre Support Centre in Hurstbridge is wonderful place to drop in for coffee or cake and a chat. The coffee is real and the chat friendly.

Located across the road from the Hurstbridge Primary School, the centre has free, unlimited Internet access for those who have not been able to get back on line.

Donations keep rolling in and if cant find what you are looking for you can ask to centre to try to source it or at least keep an eye out and let you know if comes in.

Everything from pets to washing machines.

During the week the centre is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm and on Saturday you can drop in from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

A wide range of clothes, along with books and toys for the kids, food, electrical appliances that have all been checked and come with certification and household goods can be found inside the centre. Outside under cover is a huge range of furniture and larger appliances.

With a clothes washing facility and the centres ability to organise working bees, the Hurstbridge Support Centre, does just that…..support.

You can phone the centre on 9718 2759 or email at hurstbridgereliefcentre@netspace.net.au

The Tool Shed is Operational!!!

The Tool shed at the St Andrews relief centre is now up and running. It is located in the bottom car park behind the centre.

As of Saturday it had most of the basics –  rakes, shovels picks etc as well as a good selection of small tools, hammers screwdrivers etc. The centre will also be sourcing larger items like wheelbarrows but these will need to be reserved.

The Tool Shed is currently being funded from donations so if you would like to contribute you  can donate directly to the relief centre.

The plan is to develop this into a tool library for larger items ( post hole diggers, generators,Air compressors etc) that can be issued out on a loan basis.

More news on the registration process and the Tool Library will be posted here as information comes to hand.
